About me
Dr. Weihao Ge is a Research Scientist at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Trained in biophysics and statistical modeling, her work spans computational epidemiology, machine learning, and systems-level analysis of complex human and biological data. Her research experience — including disease risk modeling, outbreak prediction, and population-scale data analysis — informs her critical perspective on how algorithmic systems represent, misrepresent, and make decisions about vulnerable populations. This presentation reflects her growing engagement with the ethical and human dimensions of AI deployment in contexts where the stakes for individuals are high and alternatives are scarce.
