Presenter BiographyFennie Mudzi is a PhD Candidate in Educational Psychology at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa, whose research focuses on the lived experiences of LGBTIQ+ individuals accessing therapy and mental healthcare services in Zimbabwe. She holds a Master of Science in Child Rights and Childhood Studies from the African University, a Bachelor of Education in Curriculum Studies and Arts (English), and a Diploma in Education.Fennie has extensive experience in education, child rights advocacy, psychosocial support, and qualitative research. Her scholarly interests include inclusive mental healthcare, minority stress, trauma and resilience, educational psychology, and the promotion of culturally responsive and affirming therapeutic practices within African contexts. She has presented research at national and international forums and has published in peer-reviewed journals on education, child rights, and social justice.Her work is driven by a commitment to amplifying marginalized voices and generating evidence that informs policy, professional practice, and equitable mental healthcare systems across the Global South.
